Over 60 Scottish Country dancers joined together in Scone on the evening of Tuesday 30th August 2022 for the final dance of the Summer season, attendees coming from across Perthshire as well as further afield including Stirling, Dundee, Dunfermline and Clackmannanshire.
Having missed two Summers of dancing due to Covid restrictions it was great to renew so many friendships as well as make new ones. Tuesday night’s dancers enjoyed a variety of dances ranging from the familiar ‘Mairi’s Wedding’ to more complex ones such as ‘Father Connelly’s Jig’, ‘The Scallywag’ and ‘Far North Queensland’, music being provided by the Glencraig Scottish Dance Band. Being recognized as an excellent form of exercise, Scottish Country Dancing is also a very sociable activity – a good way of meeting people with no partner being required in order to participate. Fun, Fitness and Friendship!
